Chicago Bulls Draft Day Analysis

I am jealous of all these NBA teams making trades and getting big name players while my Bulls keep “building for the future.” I feel like the Bulls have been building for the future for over a decade, oh wait, THEY HAVE!

The Bulls draft day started with selecting an over-weight but extremely athletic SF James Johnson from Wake Forest. Think Charles Barkley Bulls fans!

Haha, wait, did I trick you? More like a Ryan Gomes type, you may have to Google him.

JJ can do a lot of things and Bulls brass really liked his workouts at the Berto Center. And you may enjoy his nasty coast-to-coast dunk on IU feel free to Youtube it. Personally, I enjoy all monster dunks vs. IU.

Bulls’ management was not the only team that liked Johnson; various draft websites like him and many NBA execs do too.

He is from a high school in Wyoming and is already 20-0 as a kickboxer and has MMA fight under his belt. JJ is a beast and may help the Bulls immediately since Ben Gordon is most likely on his way out, and Luol Deng loves to get injured (he still may require surgery!).

The Bulls had two first round picks and selected USC PF Taj Gibson with their second first round pick. Gibson was on a much-heralded USC team two seasons ago with O.J. Mayo and Davon Jefferson and played well while he was at USC averaging 14 PPG and 9 RPG in his final season with the Men of Troy.

He seemed a little upset on his Twitter account when he wrote: By reading some of the Bulls fans tweets I can tell they haven't seen many USC or Pac-10 games....

And I told him: its all good my man,u are on the west coast so we dont see a lot of ur games. ask joakim, all u need to do is work hard ... and we will love u.

I know it went over the 140 characters, it was a double tweet hence the ellipsis.

Gibson will not play that much this season, as he is behind Joakim Noah, Brad Miller, and Tyrus Thomas. The Bulls may let Aaron Gray go since they did add to the frontcourt depth.

Although the Bulls had a decent draft day, they have been having decent draft days or better for over a decade.

I need players like Amar’e Stoudemire on my team ASAP!

  1. I understand that you've been upset with the Bulls' draft performances in the past few years, but have you already forgotten about last year's no. 1 pick?
