Escargot My Pargo

By: Mitch Heun

After a brief stay in Europe, Jannero Pargo returns to the Bulls where he spent the 2003 through 2006 seasons. His most recent stint came with the New Orleans Hornets where he consistently contributed points off the bench. While Pargo isn't a major upgrade to the roster and certainly not a Ben Gordon replacement, he brings experience and a three point threat. The other added benefit from Pargo is his inexpensive contract. This is making the Bulls run at a 2010 free agent the primary goal. Of course, you don't want to throw in the towel this season but they will still be competitive in their quest for a playoff birth.

This is also not the Pargo of old. Many Bulls fans like to forget about the years between 2003 and 2006 as it featured the dynamic duo of Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler.... (well not dynamic at all). As the Hornets battled their way into the playoffs in recent years, Pargo became the catalyst off the bench. Given minutes, he will help the Bulls and is a guard upgrade off the bench compared to Lindsey Hunter or Anthony Roberson.

Only granted a 1 year deal, the Bulls have now loaded their roster with expiring contracts. As said before they are considered major players in the 2010 offseason. Until then, remain patient Bulls fans and enjoy the development of Derrick Rose.
