Bulls Off To Decent Start So Far At 4-2

After closing the door on the Cleveland Cavaliers a few nights ago, the Bulls returned home to play the Bobcats. As was the case in their last home game against Milwaukee, the Bulls would trail Charlotte for a good majority of the game and would find themselves down by nine points (70-61) with a little under four minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The Bulls would then go on a huge 16-0 run that spanned into the final period and staked them to a 77-70 lead. The Bulls would stretch the lead to 92-85 and appeared to be in cruise control but poor free-throw shooting would would enable the Bobcats to close within two (92-90). Salmons would split two free throws to put the Bulls up 93-90 with twenty seconds remaining. The Bobcats failed to tie the game on several missed attempts from beyond the arc and the Bulls would come away with their fourth victory of the season and a perfect 3-0 at the United Center.

The key player to me in the victory was Joakim Noah who had a monster game with 21 points. 16 boards and 4 blocked shots. Noah did not seem to play with too much intensity last year until near the end of the year and in the playoffs against Boston. It seems that he has carried that over so far into the current season and he appears to be a more capable scorer and aggressive rebounder than he was a year ago. The Bulls still seem to have trouble on the offensive end at times but they have been able to overcome that with solid defense.

While a win is a win, hopefully the Bulls will find a way to get going offensively early on in the game rather than later as it will be difficult to overcome huge deficits against the elite teams in the league.
