Bulls Cruise In 118-85 Victory Over Knicks

The Bulls went into the All-Star break 25-26, following a 107-87 beat down at the hands of the Orlando Magic. Not only did they lose the game by a large margin, Derrick Rose had to leave the game early after suffering a bruised hip. Things don’t get any easier for Chicago with a string of four games in five nights ahead and lingering injuries to Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Brad Miller.

Despite all of the negatives heading into the game against the Knicks, the Bulls managed one of their most impressive performances of the season toppling New York 118-85. You couldn’t tell that Rose was suffering from a serious injury with his play as he led all scorers with 29 points connecting on 14 of 18 shots from the field. In fact the Bulls had seven players who scored in double figures as they matched their largest victory total of the season. The Bulls also defeated the Pistons by 33 points earlier this season. While the Bulls held a sizable 64-50 lead at the half, one could not be sure if they would allow the Knicks to get back into the game. After all, this is the team that lost to the Sacramento Kings after blowing a 35 point lead.

However, the Bulls would not let up off the accelerator this time as would outscore the Knicks 31-18 in the third quarter and would enjoy at 95-68 lead heading into the final period. The starters were able to rest their starters for the entire final period which is a good thing because they play against this same New York team tonight in Madison Square Garden. While a home and home series is always tough, if Chicago can play with the same intensity and focus as they did last night, they should be able to pull out another win against the New Yorkers.
